How do you activate it?

One handed removal of red tab in an upward motion with finger. This dislodges the top protective hood for exposure to antenna. Simply flick the antenna overhang, which instantly deploys the antenna in a ready position. Lastly a press of the small top button on face activates device. Confirm activation by visual indication of strobing SOS from top.
