Is this stick rated for a 250 pound person? I am just wondering if i can be fairly confident it won't break on me while i'm out hiking with it. Expert Answer

Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not recommend a max weight. The material is polypropylene. It should be strong but its durability will be unique to the individual.

Is there a metal rod in the cane? Expert Answer

The Cold Steel Blackthorn Staff is made from Polypropylene and is 59" in overall length. It does not use a metal rod.

Keep in mind it is poly, so if you put a load on it, it will bent but as i am probably the biggest user here. I would say it's very stable and safe. I added a cain foot for slip resistance. Great value for the money!
